The summoning flexibility is merely one element of difficulty as other posters have already pointed out, although admittedly not an unimportant one. Strongly disagree with this statement, sorry. IMO necromancer will come between theocrat and archdruid. He is not actualy difficult, only different, and disapointing if you consider it like any other class. Dreadnaught have it easier in sieges though, and is not restricted to only physical damage. Then you have the straightforward play : warlord and dreadnaught are army based classes that don’t need shenanigans to be effective just build your class troups, and rampage. Sorcerer and theocrat are the best for doomstack, and doomstack is the easiest way to play against the AI and usualy fit beginers mind the best : you have your heroes, you take the hugest and most powerful units you can have, and you rampage over everything. Summoning your monsters where you need them is easy mode, and his doomstack capabilities are unmatched.įrom easiest to hardest, to me, the important factors are the ability for doomstack, and the orthodox way of playing. Sorcerer is undoubtably the easiest class to play. That being said, I’d switch Archdruid and Sorcerer if playing Elves, because lol Elf Hunters. Rogue (unorthodox play style, requires a lot of finesse and a fair bit of knowledge of the game mechanics).

Sorcerer (being limited to only building one class unit at a time due to having to summon all but one of them I think is tough for new players)ĥ.

For a lot of beginners especially, they’re probably going to lose because they’re being outproduced, because they either don’t have enough gold, production, or both. I know a lot of their units aren’t always super intuitive, but the massive economic boost they get from their empire upgrades is just insane. Personally I’d argue the Dreadnought is the easiest to play.
